BATTLE SOUNDS CREW:

As a student at Pratt Institute (1987-1992), Carluccio bonded with like minded artists  Rio Rocket Valledor, Jon Mark Bagnall and Alix Val ( aka DJ A Vee). Together the friends ventured to DJ battles witnessing the ups and down of these artistic competitions.   As students of art and architecture the crew could not deny the amazement of this  complex and intricate art.  John and Rio then began to explored their own sonic chops as radio DJs for Pratt Radio’s “Organized Noise” show (1988-1991).

By 1993, John’s brother Paul Carluccio, an NYU film student, began exposing his older sibling to the craft of Hi-8 video.  With a passion for DJs and documentary, John recruited his then roommates Rio & Jon Mark, along with brother Paul to help create Battle Sounds.

After 200 hours of Hi-8 video shooting over a period of two years the crew eventually dissembled.  Today, each member is still staying very creative.
